Dr. Lerner grew up on Long Island, NY. She earned her VMD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1988 and has been devoted to delivering excellent care for cats ever since. In November 1999, Dr. Lerner and her husband Lee founded for Cats, which became Delaware County's first veterinary practice exclusively for felines.

Dr. Lerner is dedicated to all facets of feline medicine, with a special interest in dentistry, internal medicine, and providing compassionate end-of-life support for pets and their families. Outside of work, she enjoys growing indoor plants and learning about different energy and integrative modalities. But most of all she enjoys spending time with her family including her 2 cats, Tony and Merlin​​.
