Just For Cats is the original cat hospital in Delaware County. Since 1999 Dr. Lerner and her staff have been dedicated to serving both you and your feline family members with all of your veterinary needs. Our team is devoted to your cat's comfort and quality of life whether they are a kitten in need of routine surgery or a geriatric patient in need of advanced medical support. Our facility and tools are all tailored specifically with your cats needs in mind. We look forward to meeting you and establishing a life long relationship.
Sandra has been with Just for Cats since April 2006. She fills many roles here including managing the team and office, as well as being the lead assistant. Sandra’s professional interests include the human-animal bond, nutrition, and making veterinary visits less stressful. She has a bachelor’s degree in Social Work and has experience facilitating pet loss support groups.
Sandra obtained a veterinary assistant certification years ago but has recently decided to advance her career in veterinary medicine by studying to become a Certified Veterinary Technician. This will allow her to become licensed and perform more tasks independently and assist the doctors at a higher level. She shares her home with her three spoiled cats, Lilo, Chiku, and Déjà vu.
Jean started working at Just for Cats in June 2018. She has an associates degree in math/natural science from Delaware County Community College. Before joining the JFC team, she worked at a mixed practice for three years. You can find her assisting in exam rooms, but she also enjoys the behind the scenes work, such as monitoring anesthesia and lab testing. Jean is Low Stress Handling® Silver Certified and Fear Free Certified.
She shares her home with her four cats; Fred, Becky, Oliver and Arthur. She also has two dogs, Elsa and Josie.
Terri originally jumped in as a temporary worker when another staff member was on leave several years ago. As time went by, she grew to love her position and decided to stay on long term. Terri can be found at the front desk with a smile on her face ready to help.
Sam has been with Just for Cats since March 2019. She has a bachelor’s degree in acting and a minor in stage management from Oklahoma City University. Sam is originally from Houston, but she moved to Delaware County to pursue theatre in and around Philadelphia.
Although her background is in theatre, Sam became interested in working at a feline veterinary practice after the experience of caring for her own cat who had kidney failure. She currently has a cat named Jenny, who was abandoned at Just for Cats, but is now a very loved and spoiled kitty.
Angelica joined Just for Cats in May of 2019. She is currently a student at Temple University and is studying to become an art director in the field of advertising. She loves to travel and draw.
Angelica can be found assisting with patients, X-Rays, lab testing and administrative work. She has one very bossy and spoiled cat named Samara.
Mikayla joined Just for Cats in June 2020. Mikayla has a Bachelors in Technical Theatre from West Virginia University. Prior to working at Just for Cats she worked as an independent electrician at theatres in the Philadelphia area. Mikayla's childhood was filled with rescuing lost pets and helping stray turtles cross the road, so she has always had a deep appreciation of animals.
While working in theatre, Mikayla started volunteering at an animal shelter and found that working around animals made her happiest. Mikayla has two cats, Farrah and Libby and lives with two other cats so she is no stranger to felines. Libby is a special needs cat due to a birth defect and comes to the vet weekly for massages and laser treatment.
